DISPUTES WITH TENANTS

We support both landlords and students to resolve disputes so that an amicable outcome can be reached. We will try to help with disagreements to do with disrepair, student and landlord responsibilities, rent arrears, payment of bills and return of deposits.

We always recommend that both landlords and students maintain open communications but we understand that disagreements can arise. In these circumstances we suggest that you make positive steps to take to help resolve issues with your tenants and your obligations. However, if the situation/issue continue we suggest that you contact their University directly to discuss the situation/matter further. However, this is not a replacement for legal advice.

BREACHES OF THE HOME STAMP CODE OF STANDARDS

If students think that a Home Stamp registered landlord is in breach of the Code of Standards, they can make a complaint to us and the Home Stamp Manager will investigate. If it is found that the complaint is upheld, then the landlord is given the opportunity to rectify the issues in order to meet our Code of Standards.

If a landlord continues to breach the Code of Standards, the complaint is put before the Home Stamp Board who will decide whether the landlord can remain with Home Stamp.
